What is pharmacogenetics?

Pharmacogenetics is the study of how genetics influence the way drugs affect individuals.

It aims to

  • identify variable sequences of the genome to help identify individuals for whom certain drugs will have no effect (non-responders) or have an increased risk of adverse drug events.
  • - optimally customize medical therapy according to the needs of each individual.

for patients

Added value
for doctors

  • Preparation and analysis of a patient’s genetic proGile to ensure that drugs prescribed are well tolerated and effective.
  • Recommendations on which medications are most suitable to a patient’s genetic makeup and individual metabolism.
  • Avoidance of undesirable side effects, or an increase or decrease in the efGicacy of a drug or combination of drugs, with the help of the genetic proGile.
  • Dosing of current and future medications in line with the patient’s individual genetic code.
  • Direct access to all currently available evidence-based prescribing information from international expert committees and studies
  • Insight into the personal genetic metabolic profile of each individual patient
  • Specific suggestions for diagnosis and therapy based exclusively on reference-supported  recommendations
  • Option for therapy adapted to the individual’s genetic profile and prevention of adverse drug events
  • Reducing the cost of therapy through specifically targeted treatment
